Notre Dame Fighting Irish Game Notes
Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman said Monday that the plan is for Tyler Buchner (shoulder) to start in the team's bowl game against South Carolina, Mike Berardino of the South Bend Tribune reports. Bucner hasn't played since Week 2 due to a left shoulder sprain. If the sophomore quarterback is unable to play, Steve Agneli will likely be the starter.
South Carolina Gamecocks Game Notes
Spencer Rattler completed 25-of-39 passes for 360 yards, two touchdowns and two picks Saturday at Clemson, while also rushing for another score in the stunning 31-30 triumph over the Tigers. Rattler led the Gamecocks to back-to-back startling upset victories, passing for a combined 798 yards and eight touchdowns in wins over top-10 squads in Tennessee and Clemson. If only Rattler played this way during SEC play, the Gamecocks could have actually made some noise this season. Still, the junior finishes the regular season with 16 touchdowns passes, 11 interceptions and 2,780 yards passing.
