Maryland head coach Mike Locksley said Dec. 13 that Taulia Tagovailoa is set to remain with the program for the 2023 season, Ryan McFadden of The Baltimore Sun reports. Tagovailoa might have been a candidate to enter the 2023 NFL Draft coming off a redshirt junior campaign this fall in which he took home second team all-Big Ten honors, but he'll instead stay in school and look to boost his stock heading into 2024. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound signal-caller started in 11 of Maryland's 12 regular-season contests, completing 68.6 percent of his passes for 7.9 yards per attempt and a 17:9 TD:INT while adding four scores on the ground. He'll get a chance to build on his numbers Friday, when Maryland takes on NC State in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.

N.C. State Wolfpack Game Notes

MJ Morris (lower body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against North Carolina, Pat Welter of WRAL News reports. Morris entered Friday's contest as a game-time decision due to a lower-body issue, but it now sounds like Ben Finley is slated to start under center for the Wolfpack, while Jack Chambers could also handle rotational QB snaps, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.
