Penn State Nittany Lions Game Notes

Sean Clifford completed 19 of 24 passes for 202 yards and four touchdowns during Saturday's 35-16 victory against Michigan State. He also had seven rushes for zero yards. Clifford closed out his final regular season with what was likely his best passing performance of the season. The graduate senior completed a season-best 79.2 percent of his passes and logged his fourth-highest yards per attempt while facing the Spartans' poor pass defense. Clifford also tossed touchdowns to four different receivers, including passing scores of 12 and 35 yards to Nicholas Singleton and KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the fourth quarter to ice away this rivalry win. This also marked just his second multi-passing-touchdown performance of the season without a turnover. The fourth-year starting quarterback finished the 2022 campaign with a career-best 63.6 completion percentage, and he'll look to end his collegiate career on a high note in the Nittany Lions' likely New Year's Six bowl appearance.

Ja’Quinden Jackson posted 10 carries for 117 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 63-21 victory versus Colorado. With Tavion Thomas (toe) out for the season, Jackson slid into a lead role in Utah's' backfield and delivered. Although Micah Bernard was still involved, the talented freshman looks like the running back of the future for the Utes.
