LSU Tigers Game Notes

Jayden Daniels announced Thursday via his personal twitter that he will return to LSU next season. Daniels completed 254-of-371 passes for 2,774 yards, 16 touchdowns and three interceptions to go along with 180 carries for 818 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground in 13 games during the 2022 campaign. Daniels will return to LSU as one of the top quarterbacks in the country and should be good to go for the team's bowl game against Purdue.

Purdue Boilermakers Game Notes

Aidan O'Connell is expected to announce Thursday that he will opt out of Purdue's Jan. 2 Citrus Bowl game against LSU in preparation for the 2023 NFL Draft, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports. The sixth-year senior wrapped up his final season at Purdue with a bang, completing 320 of 499 pass attempts for 3,490 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Austin Burton and Michael Alaimo will be the top candidates to start at quarterback in the Citrus Bowl.
