Philadelphia Phillies DFS SPIN

Aaron Nola will get the start for the Phillies in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday at Houston. Phillies manager Rob Thomson announced that news on Wednesday morning while also adding that Zack Wheeler will be on tap for Game 2 on Saturday. Nola struggled in his lone NLCS outing against the Padres, but he was brilliant in both the NL Wild Card Series and National League Division Series. The 29-year-old right-hander registered a 3.25 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 235/29 K/BB ratio over 205 innings during the 2022 regular season. His final regular-season start was at Minute Maid Park and he racked up nine strikeouts across 6 2/3 scoreless frames.

Houston Astros DFS SPIN

Justin Verlander will start for the Astros in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday versus the Phillies. Aaron Nola has already been announced as the Game 1 starter for the Phillies, so Friday's matchup at Minute Maid Park in Houston is now officially set. Verlander struggled in the ALDS against the Mariners before roaring back with an 11-strikeout performance in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Yankees. The 39-year-old right-hander will likely be crowned as the 2022 AL Cy Young Award winner in a couple of weeks.
