Brayden Point is uncertain for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final on Thursday night against the New York Islanders. "In this situation, I'm hoping it's not the last time we're going to see [Point] and we might be able to see him as early as tomorrow night. I don't have the answer for that," coach Jon Cooper said Wednesday. "But … we put the player first and then we just go from there. You don't want to put guys in a position where they're not going to be productive. Anytime in my history of when guys have been hurt, they don't play the same way. So sometimes you have to protect them from themselves." Point has missed two of the last three games due to an injury. Tampa Bay has lost both matches against the Islanders when he hasn't been in the lineup. Point has been spectacular in the postseason with nine goals and 25 points in 16 games.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 36 of 37 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 double overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Varlamov's teammates tried to play as stingy as they could, but they still allowed the Bolts to generate some good scoring opportunities. The Isles goalie also got some good fortune in double OT, as Nikita Kucherov hit the side of the post as he was falling to the ice. Thankfully for the Isles, they got a goal from Jordan Eberle in the second overtime period (that was just their 24th shot of the game). Varlamov now has an 11-6 record in this postseason. His team still find themselves down 3-2 heading into Game 6 on Thursday night.
