Nebraska Cornhuskers Game Notes
Nebraska junior QB Adrian Martinez completed 13-of-19 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed nine times for 113 yards in Nebraska's 28-3 win over Buffalo. Despite the big score differential and gaudy stat line, this was not one of Martinez's best games. Martinez (6'2/212) and Nebraska didn't struggle to move the ball, but once they got in close they didn't look as clean, only managing to cash in on big plays. Half of Martinez's passing yards came on two passes. The first was a skinny post to Samori Toure who burned his man badly and took a short pass a long way. Then, late in the fourth quarter, a deep play action pass to Toure, who again beat his man by a mile, when Buffalo was expecting Nebraska to run out the clock up 18 with six minutes left. Martinez missed a couple easy throws during the game, and his play suffered in the red zone. He did look fantastic evading pressure however, including his 71 yard scamper after ducking a sure sack. He ran well all night, and passed 2000 career yards for the Corn Huskers. To be fair to Martinez and the Nebraska offense, K Conner Culp missed three short field goals and Martinez had two touchdowns wiped out by penalty. Overall, it was a decent game for Martinez, despite what his stat line may imply.
Oklahoma Sooners Game Notes
Oklahoma sophomore QB Spencer Rattler completed 30-of-39 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown in a 40-35 victory over Tulane on Saturday. Rattler (6'1/205) was pretty good overall and led the team to 40 points and 430 total yards, but threw two interceptions which helped keep the Green Wave in the game until the very end. The Sooners also weren't very efficient on third-downs, converting just three-of-12 opportunities in the contest. His lone touchdown came on a quick throw to Mario Williams in which the blue-chip freshman weaved his way into the end zone for the six-yard score. He sailed a couple of passes and certainly could have been sharper. Rattler and company welcome Western Carolina for a paycheck game next Saturday.

The under has cashed in six of the last eight meetings between these two teams and is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Norman. The under is also 6-0-1 in the Cornhuskers’ last seven road games, is 5-1-1 in their last seven games overall and has cashed in seven of their last nine non-conference games. On the other side, the under is 4-1 in the Sooners’ last five games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous contest.
