Oregon Ducks Game Notes

Oregon Anthony Brown threw for 172 yards, a passing touchdown, and a fourth-quarter 30-yard rushing touchdown to beat Fresno State 31-24. The Boston College transfer who threw for 4,738 passing yards and 40 touchdowns in three seasons with the Eagles made his September debut at Autzen Stadium. Anthony Brown (6'3'/226) looked comfortable all game with smart passes and tucking the ball to run when nothing was there. His first touchdown of the game was something you show to young quarterbacks; pump fake off the defender, hitting a wide-open Johnnie Johnson III on the right corner for a 32-yard touchdown. Oregon would take a 21-6 lead late in the first half. The Bulldogs would come back and tie this game at 24 in the fourth quarter. In the possession coming off a Fresno State failed fourth-down conversion, Brown would rush for a 30-yard touchdown to give Oregon the 31-24 lead. Brown will get a true test next Saturday as Oregon is on the road against Ohio State.

Ohio State Buckeyes Game Notes

OSU QB CJ Stroud was named the conference's freshman of the week. Stroud (6'3/215) had a fine overall 2021 debut as the Buckeyes opened the season against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, which earned him freshman of the week honors within the conference. Stroud completed 13-of-22 passes for 294 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Stroud had impressive scoring passes of 70, 56 and 38 yards as the Buckeyes began the season 1-0 with him at the helm. Stroud will look to continue staying on top as he and Ohio State face Oregon up next.

Ohio State vs. Minnesota Betting Prediction

The Ducks are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games overall, are 0-4 against the number in their last four games coming off a win and are 3-8 at the betting window in their last 11 non-conference games. On the other side, the Buckeyes are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games in September and are 12-2-1 against the number in their last 15 games versus Pac-12 opponents.
