Tua Tagovailoa Draft Prop Odds

2020 NFL Draft Props, 3/13/20 Which Team will Draft Tua Tagovailoa?

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had his four-month scans on his dislocated hip and they were, “very good with no concerns.” With that, which team has the best odds to select the signal-caller in next month’s NFL draft?

Along with the report that Tagovailoa’s medicals were clear, Rapoport also added, "Essentially, as positive as possible. Accordingly, he’ll now begin the slow progression of activity to get his body ready for play."

So which teams have the best odds to draft Tagovailoa? Here are the top 3 teams according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com. You can see the complete list here.

Dolphins (4/5)

It makes sense why the Dolphins would have the best odds to select the Alabama product and why there would be a significant drop to the team with the next-best odds. The Dolphins have two first-round selections as of this writing: the No. 5 pick and the No. 18 pick. If they wanted to sit tight and see if Tagovailoa fell to them at No. 5, they could do that, or if they wanted to package the No. 18 pick to move up to the No. 2 pick (currently held by Washington), they could guarantee that they land their future signal-caller after the Bengals selected Joe Burrow of LSU. The Dolphins also still have Ryan Fitzpatrick to be the bridge quarterback until Tagovailoa is completely ready to return to the gridiron.

Redskins 3/1

It’s somewhat of a surprise that Washington, which took quarterback Dwayne Haskins in the first round a year ago, would have the next-best odds behind Miami. That said, they hired a new coach in Ron Rivera and perhaps he’s not sold on Haskins, who had an up-and-down rookie season when he eventually took over for Case Keenum. If Rivera wanted to start fresh, the Redskins have the best chance to draft Tagovailoa, as they currently own the No. 2 pick. With the Bengals expected to take Burrow, Washington would have a clear shot at Tagovailoa. It all depends on what the new regime thinks about Haskins.

Chargers (9/2)

As of this writing, the Chargers own the No. 6 pick, right behind the Dolphins at No. 5. If the Bolts want Tua, they’d likely have to move ahead of Miami in order to land him. Perhaps the Redskins would make sense as a trade partner, but again, Washington might want Tagovailoa for itself. Either way, the Chargers are moving on from Philip Rivers, who is a free agent, and will need to find their quarterback of the future at some point. They have a golden opportunity to find that signal caller in this year’s draft, whether it’s Tua or otherwise.
