Mississippi State Bulldogs Game Notes
Simeon Price (undisclosed) didn't play in Mississippi State's final two regular season games. It's unclear why Price didn't play in Week 12 or 13 after seeing action in the first 10 games of the season. With Dillon Johnson entering the transfer portal, Price would likely be the backup running back behind Jo'quavious Marks for the bowl game against Illinois if he's able to play.
Illinois Fighting Illini Game Notes
Brian Hightower (undisclosed) did not play in Illinois' season finale against Northwestern. Hightower missed his first game of the season in Week 13, leaving him with an unclear status for the team's bowl game against Mississippi State. He's currently second on the team in receptions (37) and has 452 yards and two touchdowns. Pat Bryant and Casey Washington would likely step into bigger roles if Hightower is unable to play.
